This Diesel Fitter job at Regional Group Australia is a full-time on-site role for heavy-duty plant mechanics who keep mobile crushing fleets crushing 24/7 in the Bowen Basin. You’ll wrench on CAT, Komatsu, Terex-Finlay, and McCloskey crushers and screeners, diagnose faults, plan repairs, and coach operators while living on-site with full camp and LAHA. Roster is flexible 7:7 or 5:2, 12-hour shifts. Pay is AU$65–$75/hr flat (AU$160K–$190K/year) + super, company ute, toolboxes, and Maas Group shares. You need trade qual, HR license preferred, and proven crushing experience. FIFO possible. It’s a high-earning gig for gritty fitters who love Emerald’s coal dust and an ASX-listed group that’s expanding fast.

Diesel Fitter – Mobile Crushing Plant

Responsibilities

  • Repair crushers, screeners, stackers.
  • Diagnose hydraulic/electrical faults.
  • Work 12-hour shifts, 7:7 or 5:2 roster.
  • Log jobs in MEX system.
  • Plan parts and shutdowns.
  • Coach operators on daily checks.
  • Keep camp and workshop tidy.
  • Report near-misses instantly.
  • Handle 40–84 hours a week.
  • Drive company ute on-site.

Requirements

Education

Australian-recognized Heavy Diesel trade cert.

Experience

2+ years experince mobile crushing plant (CAT/Komatsu/Terex/McCloskey).

Qualifications

  • HR license preferred.
  • Full Australian work rights.

Skills

  • Strip and rebuild components.
  • Read hydraulic schematics.
  • Work safe in heat/dust.
  • Use MEX or similar.
  • Team player under pressure.

Knowledge

  • Crushing circuit maintenance.
  • Predictive/preventive strategies.
  • Safety systems (isolations).
  • Component life tracking.
  • Bowen Basin conditions.
