Aliaxis, a leading provider of advanced plastic piping systems, is seeking a skilled electrician to join their team in Auckland, New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, with a focus on ensuring the safety and efficiency of electrical systems. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, and ensuring compliance with electrical regulations and standards. Responsibilities of Electrician:

  • Help develop and then maintain and evolve a preventative maintenance program with a focus on maximizing machine uptime.
  • Attend Electrical breakdowns as a matter of urgency to restore operation and seek full RCA understanding on the failures to help improve reliability.
  • Ensure all breakdowns are managed in a timely manner to return the machine to production in a safe operating manner providing feedback on the root cause of the breakdown & proposing solutions to avoid repeats.
  • Ensure there are critical spares on hand as agreed with the Electrical Team Leader in line with our reliability & critical spares program in plan and functioning for key equipment on site.
  • Organize any support trades to provide best total solution for preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure all PLC programs are correctly backed up.
  • Support the Electrical Team Leader to periodically review equipment reliability and propose adjustments to strategy to ensure optimum   equipment availability. Conduct fault analysis and develop appropriate solutions with technicians and operators when required.
  • Ensure all electrical drawings are up to date in an ‘As built / in Operation’ standard.

Eligibility Requirements for Job:

  • Electrical Trade Certificate plus Advanced Trade Certificate A&B (required), Advanced Trade Electrical C&D (Preferred).
  • NZCE Electrical or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Current Practicing license.
  • Proven Knowledge of electrical Equipment maintenance.
  • Previous industrial electrical maintenance experience of at least 5 years (Required)
  • Knowledge of closed loop control systems (in particular PID).
  • Knowledge of PLC Systems (Omron / Siemens Preferred).
  • Project management ability (required)
