Drax Group is currently seeking a qualified electrician to join their team in Burns Lake, BC, Canada. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in accordance with relevant codes and regulations. Key responsibilities include inspecting electrical components, identifying electrical problems, and troubleshooting issues to determine the best course of action. Responsibilities of Electrician:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Providing regular and routine maintenance to machines ensuring safety, quality, productivity and environmental policies are held to the highest standards.
- Install, maintain, inspect and repair a wide variety of electrical equipment.
- Work with work order systems.
- Work with other trades like Millwrights in a team environment, to increasing safety,
efficiency, quality and production. - Willingness to assist in nonelectrical, operational issues when required.
Requirements for Electrician:
- Journeyman Electrician certification
- Proven experience as an Electrician
- Knowledge of electrical systems and hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to build a rapport and working relationship with key stakeholders, with a collaborative and supportive approach to getting the job done
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident and able to challenge and influence where required
- Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands
- Must be a problem solver with the ability to find and implement resolutions
- Ability to work flexible schedule as needed (on call support for Plant Management Team/Supervisor Relief).
