Kitchen Attendant at Royal Automobile Club of Victoria Australia

RACV are seeking for a Kitchen Attendant in Australia for their growth and development. As a Kitchen Hand, selected candidate will be responsible for cleaning dishes, maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and assisting with moving stock and equipment and, occasionally, assisting the chefs with food preparation. To be successful in this role, he will have exceptional organizational skills, be energetic, hardworking and have a positive attitude. He will be working under the direction of their talented chefs so the ability to take direction and follow instructions is a must. The smooth running of the kitchen will depend on you!

Responsibilities of Kitchen Attendant:

• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Ensuring that all kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
• Dishwashing: Washing dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils either by hand or using a dishwasher.
• Food Preparation Support: Assisting chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, preparing salads, or portioning ingredients.
• Stock Management: Monitoring and replenishing kitchen supplies, such as cleaning products, utensils, and disposable items.
• Waste Management: Disposing of kitchen waste and recycling materials in accordance with waste management procedures.
• Kitchen Organization: Keeping the kitchen area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
• Compliance: Adhering to health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and hygiene practices.
• Teamwork: Working collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and a positive work environment.
• Customer Service: Providing assistance and support to kitchen staff as needed and assisting with customer queries or requests when required.
• Additional Duties: Performing other duties as assigned by the kitchen supervisor or manager.

Requirements for Kitchen Attendant:

• Experience in a similar, high-volume role with repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, initiative and the ability to work in a team or independently.
• Previous experience using a commercial dishwasher advantageous.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day roster (breakfast, lunch and dinner), including public holidays and the festive season.
