Nursery Supervisor Job in Australia

You will be responsible for providing general supervision to small teams and overseeing field operations (such as planting, trimming, training, spraying, harvesting and other related activities) with specific focus on achievement of productivity targets and accurate reporting on productivity metrics. This is a very hands-on role, where you can apply your previous farming knowledge and experience and help guide others in your team in adopting best practice horticultural practices.

Your key duties will include:

  • Overseeing field workers (both direct/indirect) and assist in rostering arrangements.
  • Monitoring and reporting on day to day productivity and outputs to site management.
  • Operating and conducting farm activities including use of tractor, forklift and other farming machinery and implements.
  • Train and supervise field labour workers and ensure correct procedures are applied in the planting, husbandry, trimming and other related activities.
  • Promote a high-performance, safe work environment with strong staff management and safety practices.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working on a farm or nursery is preferred
  • Previous experience providing supervision to small teams
  • Basic excel and computer skills are essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Australian working rights
