Job Summary

Ellerslie Farms Group is seeking a dedicated Poultry Farm Stockperson to join our experienced and passionate production teams. In this hands-on role, you’ll support poultry care and egg production while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare and food safety. This role reports to the Farm Supervisor.

Ellerslie Farms Group is one of Australia’s largest and most progressive poultry farming operations, employing over 400 people across vertically integrated facilities in Millmerran, Queensland. We manage the full supply chain—from chick rearing and grain production to egg grading and poultry management—with a strong focus on animal welfare, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Location & Work Type

• Job Type: Full-time, permanent
• Location: Millmerran, QLD (1 hour west of Toowoomba)
• On-site rural working environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily checks on feed, water, temperature, and bird welfare in poultry sheds
• Handle, inspect, and care for poultry across all stages of growth
• Follow health, hygiene, and safety protocols in compliance with animal welfare standards
• Complete accurate documentation and maintain quality control processes
• Work collaboratively within a team on a rotating roster
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of poultry rearing systems
• Participate in training and adhere to biosecurity procedures

Requirements (Eligibility Criteria)

• Bachelor degree in agriculture, animal science, poultry science, or equivalent (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial poultry farming (medium to large scale)
• Familiarity with modern poultry rearing systems and husbandry practices
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to animal care
• Good literacy and numeracy skills for documentation and reporting
• Physically fit and able to work in rural, dusty, or varying weather conditions
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Willingness to adhere to strict biosecurity policies (e.g., no poultry or pigs at home)

Salary Range

AUD $45,000 – $55,000 per year.
