Ellerslie Farms Group is seeking dedicated Poultry Production Workers to join our growing team at one of Australia’s largest vertically integrated poultry operations. You will work collaboratively in a team on a rotating roster to ensure the health and welfare of our poultry, supporting the production of high-quality, hygienic eggs. This role requires attention to detail, commitment to quality, and adherence to strict biosecurity and animal welfare standards.

Location & Work Type

• Job Type: Full-time, permanent

• Location: Millmerran, Queensland (an hour west of Toowoomba)

• Roster: Rotating roster with flexible shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily feed, water, temperature, and welfare checks to ensure bird health

• Handle, identify, and inspect poultry regularly

• Follow established husbandry practices to meet or exceed company performance standards

• Maintain strict quality control in line with company quality assurance systems

• Adhere to all animal welfare and good stock handling practices

• Participate in ongoing training and perform duties within scope of training

• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support smooth operations

Requirements (Eligibility Criteria)

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, poultry or related fields is highly regarded

• Technical knowledge of poultry rearing systems is advantageous

• Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in a medium to large commercial poultry production setting

• Demonstrated care for poultry welfare and compliance with relevant legislation

• Willingness to undertake further study and continuous learning

• Strong commitment to quality and completing tasks to a high standard

• Proactive time management with ability to meet deadlines

• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

• Above-average literacy and numeracy skills

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport

• Physical fitness to work in outdoor, dusty, or dirty environments, and all weather conditions

• Willingness to comply with strict biosecurity protocols including no live birds or pigs kept at home
