We are seeking an experienced professional to provide technical expertise and direction in cost control, contract establishment, change control, and administration for the Public Transport Authority (PTA) Project Delivery’s projects. In this role, you will lead project teams, ensuring clear direction and effective management of procurement, cost control, and contract administration, while collaborating closely with Project Directors and Senior Management to align practices with corporate policies and processes.

Your responsibilities will include managing financial documentation in collaboration with the PTA’s Finance and Contracts division, providing expert advice on project management activities, and ensuring adherence to corporate finance and procurement policies. You will be a key point of contact for complex financial and contract management issues, and will monitor and maintain compliance through audits, reviews, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure optimal project delivery and alignment with corporate objectives.

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Contract Management or Financial Management, or extensive experience in cost, contract, and commercial management practices in large complex organisations.
  • Proven experience in preparing, managing, and auditing contract and financial management processes, with extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively at all organisational levels and manage change effectively.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to build relationships, negotiate, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on meeting targets and improving organisational performance.

This is a 66-month fixed term opportunity, available for an immediate start with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. Applicants assessed as suitable through this pool recruitment process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months.

To be eligible to work permanently at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen, have Permanent Residency status or hold a current visa with permanent working rights in Australia at the time of application.
