Ballarat Health Services are seeking motivated individuals to join their dedicated security team as a security guard in Australia. This permanent full-time position is available immediately and includes working a rotating 7 day, 24-hour roster and is based in Horsham. The successful applicant will deal with clients, family members and visitors who may be violent, aggressive, agitated, and/or suffering a mental illness. The security officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in accordance with the service’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities of Security Guard:

  • Primarily, this role ensures the security of buildings, facilities and equipment while promoting an awareness of security.
  • Patrolling the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or damage.
  • Monitoring surveillance cameras and alarms.
  • Responding to incidents and emergencies, such as medical emergencies or disturbances.
  • Providing assistance and support to staff and visitors as needed.
  • Completing reports and documentation related to security incidents.

Eligibility Criteria for Security Guard:

  • Successful completion or willingness to complete the Victorian Certificate II in Security Operations
  • 2 years Security or Hospital experience preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and priorities workload.
  • Adopts a customer service approach in dealing with staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Desirable: Do you hold a Certificate 2 in Security Operations?
  • Essential: Have you received three doses of a COVID19 vaccine? If no, please provide further detail regarding doses received, booking dates and/or other relevant information.
  • Essential: The successful candidate must hold, or be prepared to undergo, an employee Working with Children Check (WWCC). Please advise if you currently hold an employee WWCC, if not are you willing to undergo one?
