ST JHON of GOD Health Care is currently hiring a wardsperson to join their team in Australia. Selected candidates will play a crucial role in providing support to the healthcare team by transporting patients, delivering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Responsibilities of Wardsperson:

• Capacity to understand and willingness to support and promote the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
• Liaise with nursing staff to establish needs of clients.
• Assists nursing staff with positioning, hygiene, mobility as requested.
• Delivery of pathology specimens to pathology, afterward receptionist hours.
• Retrieve medical records as required, after main switchboard hours (9pm weekdays and 7pm weekends).
• Ensuring the overall safety of patients, staff, visitors, property, plant and equipment.
• Completing internal patrols of the Health Service regularly during each shift, including checking of fire board and access.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• On-the-job training is often provided, but any relevant healthcare or customer service training is beneficial.

Abilities and Skills:

• You will have an understanding of and ability to apply occupational health and safety principles to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace, by taking all actions to avoid, eliminate or minimize hazards.
• To succeed you will have well-developed interpersonal & relationship building skills, ability to work within a team, commitment to customer service and be able to coordinate & organize resources to maximize all opportunities.
• Above all, HDHS patient care will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values

• Salary: $32.36 – $32.55 per hour + 11% superannuation
