About Job

Welders Helpers support experienced welders by helping with tasks like welding, cutting, and preparing materials. They also do general labour work at construction and project sites. Workers must always follow safety rules, act respectfully and fairly toward others, and represent Strike Group’s values in a positive way.

• Based out of our Whitecourt location
• Candidates local to Whitecourt preferred

Core Accountabilities

• Read and understand Acorn (pipe system) drawings
• Help position and fit pipe spools into place
• Lift, move, and hold metal parts using hand tools or lifting equipment (like hoists or pry bars)
• Clean metal parts using brushes, grinders, scrapers, or cleaning chemicals to remove rust, grease, or dirt
• Connect gas hoses or power cables to welding tools and machines
• Start electric generators when needed
• Remove labels or tags and move finished parts to storage or the next work area
• Attach lifting equipment to heavy objects so they can be safely moved by crane

Qualifications and Experience

• 1st or 2nd year registered Apprentice Welder preferred
• Previous facility construction & maintenance experience an asset

Skills and Abilities

• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Able to interpret Acorn drawings
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Comfortable working outdoors
