Poultry Farm Worker | Darwalla | Southern Darling Downs, QLD

Darwalla is seeking reliable and physically fit Poultry Farm Workers to join our friendly, multicultural teams across farms located between Warwick and Toowoomba, including Killarney and Laidley. No prior experience is needed as full training is provided. This casual, flexible role involves a variety of physical tasks essential to maintaining our high standards of poultry welfare and biosecurity. Reporting to the Farm Supervisor, you will play a vital role in egg collection, grading, packing, and shed maintenance.

Location & Work Type

• Job Type: Casual, flexible hours

• Location: Farms located between Warwick & Toowoomba, plus Killarney & Laidley, Queensland

• Hours: Typically 6am to 3pm; workdays flexible across 7 days/week

Key Responsibilities

• Walk poultry sheds and perform physical tasks such as egg collection, grading, packing, and shed cleaning

• Follow strict biosecurity and animal welfare protocols, including shower-on/shower-off procedures

• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in work areas

• Collaborate effectively with team members to support farm operations

• Participate in training programs to develop skills and safety knowledge

Requirements (Eligibility Criteria)

• Physically fit and able to handle demanding tasks

• Reliable, self-motivated, and a responsible team player

• Good communication skills and understanding of English (written and oral)

• Willingness to learn and work in a dusty, noisy, and sometimes smelly environment

• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transport

• Must meet strict biosecurity requirements — no live birds, poultry, or pigs at home, and no residence with others working on poultry or pig farms

• Previous farming or production experience advantageous but not required

• Forklift license is a plus but not mandatory
