Job Summary

Ellerslie Farms Group is looking for dedicated Poultry Production Workers to join our team at one of Australia’s largest poultry farms. Working on a 14-day roster, you will care for domestic poultry to support the efficient production of high-quality, hygienic eggs. This role requires a proactive team player who values quality, safety, and animal welfare.

Ellerslie Farms Group is a leading agribusiness operating one of the largest poultry farms in Australia. Located in Millmerran, Queensland, about an hour west of Toowoomba, we employ over 400 people across our vertically integrated operations. Our activities cover chick rearing, grain production, stock feed milling, egg grading, and poultry production across Cage, Cage-free, Free Range, and Organic systems. We also have in-house teams for bird vaccination, relocation, veterinary, and nutrition services.

Location & Work Type

• Job Type: Full-time, permanent

• Location: Millmerran, Queensland (On-site)

• Roster: 14-day site roster with 365-day coverage

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with a team to provide continuous poultry care and production support

• Monitor and maintain flock health and welfare at all times

• Participate in training programs to maintain skill and knowledge standards

• Comply with workplace health and safety, quarantine, and biosecurity protocols

• Operate machinery and equipment for optimal poultry system performance

• Monitor feeding and watering systems and perform general animal husbandry tasks

• Work effectively within various intensive livestock systems

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements (Eligibility Criteria)

• Positive, proactive “can do” attitude with strong teamwork skills

• Accountability and attention to detail in completing husbandry and quality assurance tasks

• Effective communication skills

• Passion for agriculture and interest in rural work environments

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport

• Physical fitness to work in dusty, dirty, or outdoor conditions, and varying weather

• Willingness to comply with strict biosecurity standards, including no live birds, poultry, or pigs kept at home, and signing of biosecurity agreements
