Palgrove is seeking a skilled and passionate Seedstock Manager to lead our nationally renowned Ultrablack breeding program. In this leadership role, you’ll manage genetics, oversee livestock operations, and mentor a high-performing team. Reporting to the General Manager, your work will drive the future of black cattle genetics in Australia.

Location & Work Type

  • Job Type: Full-time, permanent
  • Location: Inverell, New South Wales
  • On-site housing and utilities included

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Ultrablack seedstock program, managing all breeding strategies (AI, ET, and natural joining)
  • Oversee livestock operations including animal health, handling, and quality control
  • Implement and monitor genetics and performance data for herd improvement
  • Develop and support team members through effective leadership and training
  • Ensure compliance with welfare, safety, and operational standards
  • Collaborate with other managers and stakeholders to align with business goals

Requirements (Eligibility Criteria)

  • Demonstrated experience in stud cattle operations (Ultrablack, Brangus, Angus, or related breeds)
  • Proven skills in managing AI, ET, natural joining programs, and pasture management
  • Strong understanding of animal health protocols and performance measurement
  • Effective communication and leadership skills with a collaborative approach
  • Passion for continuous improvement and long-term breeding success
  • Australian work rights and valid driver’s licence required

Salary Range

AU$100,000 to AU$115,000 per year
